Davide Brunelli

Bio

Davide Brunelli was born in Cesena, Italy, on March 26, 1977. He graduated (summa cum laude) in Electrical Engineering at the University of Bologna in 2002, and he received a PhD degree in electrical engineering from the same University in 2007. He currently holds a post-doc position at University of Bologna. Davide Brunelli has been academic guest and visiting researcher in at ETH, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (Switzerland) in 2005, 2006 and 2007. In the industrial field, he has been scientific consultant for "Telecom Italia Labs" for research studies on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) for Smart Home Environments in 2006. His research interests concern design and analysis of wireless sensor networks for ambient intelligence and ubiquitous computing. Particular emphasis is addressed on analysis of energy scavenging techniques, and optimization of harvesting sensor networks.Other research interests include ubiquitous computing oriented to the cooperation through mobile devices and development of graphic application for portable systems.Specialties: - Development of new techniques of Energy Scavenging for low-power embedded systems and wireless sensor networks (WSN) and embedded systems.- Development and optimization of low-power and low-cost WSN. - Development of algorithms for Wireless Sensor Network communication protocol- Exploring interaction and design issues in embedded personal device with particular emphasis on ultra-low power- Development of positioning algorithms analysis and tracking in indoor environments
