Banu Gunel Kilic

Bio

Prof. Banu Günel Kılıç is a Professor of Information Systems specializing in signal processing, cyber security, machine learning, and social network analysis. She received her B.Sc. (Hons.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University (2000), an M.Sc. (Hons.) in Communication Systems and Signal Processing from the University of Bristol (2001), and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Queen’s University Belfast (2004). Between 2004 and 2010, she worked as a Research Associate and later Senior Research Associate at the Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP), University of Surrey, where she contributed to several EU FP6 and FP7 projects, including VISNET, VISNET-II, DIOMEDES, MUSCADE, and IRIS. Since 2010, she has been a faculty member at the Graduate School of Informatics. She is currently involved in H2020 and Digital Europe projects, including EuroCC2, EUMaster4HPC, and ACHIEVE. Her research interests include signal processing, social network analysis, multimedia systems, cyber security.
