Session-based Detection of User Behaviour and Emotions

This course covers the entire process of designing and developing session-based detection of user behaviour and emotion in a educational settings. An application designed to improve the communication skills of health professions students is used as an example. The module covers user research, idea development, design, and user testing for such applications. Participants will explore things like design thinking, user research methods, prototyping, and system evaluation. The module examines how session-based detection can be applied in education and demonstrate how feedback can be formed from analysis. Participants will learn about the ethical, privacy, and technical challenges associated with these systems.
