This introductory course provides fundamentals about industrial and mobile robots used in automated factories. Industrial robots are multi-axis, programmable devices, suitable for a large variety of tasks in virtually all phases of manufacturing, including sorting, packaging, painting, assembly, quality control, logistics, etc. The robots carrying out such tasks are equipped with tools and integrated into robot cells, which are both designed to meet the specifications of the automated manufacturing operation. Successful completion of the lessons of the course allows understanding of a large number of interconnected notions and paradigms used in automated manufacturing based on robot cells.
