1. Short description of the module

This module is designed to examine the themes of innovation and entrepreneurship, with particular attention to the interconnections between these two concepts. It is organized into four sections, each comprising five lessons.

The pedagogical approach is structured as follows: first, to define and contextualize the notion of innovation, including the environments and circumstances in which it occurs; second, to interpret innovation as the outcome of investment in capital, with a particular focus in this module on intangible capital; third, to analyze the processes of value creation, with innovation positioned at the core of these dynamics; and finally, to explore entrepreneurship within this broader framework of innovation.

Each lesson will be supported by a video resource, complementary documentation (including excerpts from books and scholarly articles), and assessment tools.

2. Target audience

The module is primarily intended for master’s students in computer science, who generally have limited background in economics, sociology, or management sciences, and is therefore designed to provide them with a transdisciplinary perspective on their own practices. The course can also be followed by any professional aiming at improving it knowledge in I&E topics.
